Google Maps is one of the most commonly used applications for information on routes, shops, and other services in the region where you are. In turn, much used as a GPS, recently the program has gained a new function, which is that of the speedometer to help you not take fines and, of course, be more in control of the speed of your car.
However, for many people using Google’s navigation system, the option of the speedometer did not end up appearing, but this is because Google Maps does not enable the speedometer by default within the application, and it must be activated manually. Here’s how to enable or disable the Google Maps speedometer.
How to enable the Google Maps Speedometer
Until the time of publication of this article, the speedometer function of Google Maps is currently restricted to the Android version of the application, that is, there is no manual way to enable such a feature on iOS (iPhone system). Check out:
- Go to Google Play and make sure Google Maps is up to its latest version;
- Open Google Maps, tap the icon represented by “three lines” and enter “Settings”;
- In the new screen, click “Navigation Settings” and under “Direction Options”, enable the “Speedometer” button.
Once you have enabled the speedometer option, all you need to do is start a route or route using the car option as a means of transport. Then, when the navigation mode is active, you will see the speedometer at the bottom left of the screen.
