YouTube: Now you can play local files in YouTube Music

On Monday, the ability to play audio files on your smartphone was detected on YouTube Music for Android. Now, this local playback is being implemented at a more global level and is undoubtedly an important step in replacing Play Music.

News on YouTube Music prepares to replace Google Music

For this to work, the application will ask YouTube Music users to play music files. However, when this feature is widely available we have to go to settings and then to downloads. Then we just have to choose to show files from the device.

These options are already available to anyone who is already running version 3.13. However, local playback of YouTube Music has already appeared since version 3.09 in the settings.

Once the permission has been granted, playlists, albums, music, and artists will gain a new tab called device files. These songs can be played without any problem, but can not be added to playlists with songs from YouTube Music.
