Google Lens is a feature present on Android phones, which can be called through a proprietary application or Google Assistant to get information from what is seen on the device’s camera. Recently, this feature has undergone some changes and had the addition of more functions, which can be very useful in everyday life.

One of these, in turn, consists of the possibility of using the camera of the cellular to do the translation of texts in other languages ​​in real time. Here’s how to use Google Lens to translate texts using the camera on your smartphone.

How to use Google Lens with Google Assistant

As stated above, Google Lens can be activated by more than one method, one of them through Google Assistant. First, check out how to use the translation feature with this method:

1. Open Google Assistant by pressing and holding the mobile home key or saying “Okay, Google.” When the wizard appears, slide your screen up;
2. At the bottom of the screen, touch the icon represented by a “camera” and then select the filter as indicated in the image below;
3. If necessary, grant the mobile camera access permission and point it to the text to be translated. If you need to change the language, simply touch the field in the middle of the screen indicating the current language.

Using the translation feature with Google Lens

Much like the method above, translate a text is also available in the Google Lens app, which works without the need for Google Assistant to be set up. To use it, follow these steps:

1. Go to Google Play and search for Google Lens. If you prefer, use this link;
2. When you open it for the first time, you may need to grant access to the camera if you have not used it with Google Assistant. At the bottom of the screen, select the translation filter;
3. Now point the camera at the text you want to translate and wait for the process to take place.
