How to remove saved passwords in Chrome and Firefox browsers

Learn how you can remove the passwords you have stored in your Chrome or Firefox browser.

Allowing browsers to save passwords is a risky procedure. With this, anyone who has access to your computer can enter their accounts online.

To increase security, you should not save passwords in your browser, at least for those sensitive and important sites such as your email account or your bank account.

If you have already done so, you can always delete the browser log.

First of all, you should always confirm that you remember the passwords before deleting it, otherwise, you will have problems in the future.

To remove the passwords stored in Google Chrome you must follow these steps:

1 – Click the Menu icon in the upper right corner of the window. (Depending on your version of Chrome, the menu icon looks like three horizontal lines or three horizontal points on top of each other.)

2 – Click Settings.

3 – Click Passwords.

4 – Click on the “Propose saving passwords” setting to Disable this option. If you only want to delete some of the records you can leave this option active and choose whether to save them or not.

5 – In the Saved Passwords box, click the three dots next to the first password in the list and click Remove.

6 – Repeat step 5 for each site where you want to delete the saved password.

If the browser you use is Firefox the steps are as follows:

1 – Click the Menu icon in the upper right corner of the window. (The menu icon looks like three horizontal lines stacked one above the other.)

2 – Click Settings.

3 – Select the Privacy and Security tab.

4 – Uncheck the box next to Request to save site logins and passwords.

5 – Click Saved Logins.

6 – If you want to remove all stored passwords, click the Remove All button.

7 – If you want to remove passwords stored only for certain websites, press and hold the Ctrl key and select all the sites for which you want to remove the passwords, then click the Remove button.

8 – Click the Close button.

And now you can delete the saved passwords that should not be.
