Remove background of image or photos with a single click

You have probably already had to at some point remove the background of your images, whether for the production of advertising material, for a school job, or for creating collages. We know that robust tools for designers, like Photoshop itself, can help us with this, but still not so practical, not to mention that these programs are usually paid.

With that in mind, Kaleido has developed a completely free platform that can help you remove the background of your images with a single click. We’ll teach you to step by step how this is done using both files on your computer or smartphones and links to images hosted on the web.

About remove.bg

The remove.bg is the tool developed by Kaleido to remove the background images automatically in a few seconds. You really do not need to do any complex procedure or even have in-depth knowledge with image editing programs, just select your photo and leave the rest with the application.

It is important to mention that at the moment it is only able to remove the background of images with faces of people, highlighting them and excluding everything else, replacing with a transparent background. This is because the feature is based on Artificial Intelligence, being able to detect people and differentiate them from the background.

Even so, the company itself has already informed in its FAQ that, in the future, it intends to make remove.bg capable of removing the background from other types of images, such as product photos, for example.

Removing background from images on mobile devices

With the tool, you can remove the background of your images on your smartphone, tablet, computer or notebook. In addition, through the application, you can still access storage in the cloud, such as Google Drive itself. Let’s start teaching how to do it all on mobile devices, follow the step-by-step below.

Step 1: Start by accessing the remove.bg website directly from the browser on your smartphone. Then, click  Select a photo, as indicated by the red arrow in the image below.

Step 2:  A window will open with your smartphone gallery, where you can browse your recent pictures, WhatsApp photos, and more. On this screen, you can also click the 3-dot icon indicated by the red square to see more options, including even the option to open your files in Google Drive.

Step 3: Simply select the image you want and click on the Done button indicated by the red arrow so that the tool can begin to remove the background of your images automatically.

Step 4:  Immediately upon confirming your selection, remove.bg will remove the background from your images. Then, you will be presented with a comparative showing the original image, still with the background, and the new image with everything in the background removed. Do not worry about the grayscale grid, they do not appear in the .png format when you download the image by clicking the Download button just below it.

Removing the background from the images on the PC

Doing this on the computer is also very easy, in fact, the procedure is basically the same. The only difference is that here you should browse your folders to find the photo you want. Go to the website and click  Select a photo as shown in the image below.

Select the image normally between your folders and you’re done, its background will be removed. Practical, do not you think? Unfortunately, on your computer or notebook you will not have the option to search among your files stored on the cloud, as is possible on mobile devices. Even so, you can save them directly to your PC’s storage and then use the image in the tool.

Using the image URL

The URL is the text that serves as a link to open your image directly in the browser. If the photo you want to remove the background is not saved on any of your devices, you can also use remove.bg via the link. To access the direct link to an image, follow the steps below.

Step 1: First, find the image you want on the Internet, whether on Facebook, Google, or anywhere else. Then, right-click on it and press the Copy Image Address option.

Warning:  If this option is not available, the image is protected by the page you are accessing. In this case, you should download it and save it to your computer. If you are using an image bank, you may still have to purchase an image to do so.

Step 2:  With the address of the copied image, go directly to remove.bg and click the Enter button the URL, as we demonstrate in the image below.

Step 3: In the new text box that appears, select the field and simply paste the image using Ctrl + V or by right-clicking and then clicking Paste

Step 4:  When the entire link of the image is filled, just click OK and you’re done, remove.bg will do the rest for you. Wait a few seconds and you will see the result of the procedure, then just click  Download as shown by the red arrow.

Now you know how easy it is to remove the background of your images with faces and people. Remember to save the site in your favorites and follow the news, since in the future they intend to allow this same function for other types of photos!
