How to prevent WhatsApp from being cloned

Turn on 2-step verification

On Android

It may seem simple but turn on 2-step verification to keep your WhatsApp from being easily cloned. To do this just go to WhatsApp> Menu> Settings> Account> 2-step verification.

You need to register a PIN, so even if they clone your number, they will not be able to log into your WhatsApp account unless they get your PIN code.

After adding the PIN, also add an email that you use frequently because, in case of forgetting the code, you can redefine it using the registered email.

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Then Account
  3. 2-Step Verification
  4. Enable
  5. Choose a 6-digit PIN and then
  6. Confirm your PIN and proceed
  7. Register your e-mail for access recovery and then “Next”.
  8. Confirm the email and tap Save.
  9. Finally, touch “Done”

On iOS

On the iPhone it changes a bit because some points are different names, so just go to WhatsApp> Settings> Account> 2-step verification. Now just perform the PIN code registration and your email, continuing until the end to activate successfully.
