There are some songs that only exist on YouTube. The video site is a musical diversity well, but it has some restrictions on how you can consume your content.
So your options for listening to music on Google’s streaming service are limited. One of the alternatives is to simply use a tool that allows you to download only the audio of the material served on YouTube by creating an mp3 file on your mobile phone. The process is easy and can be done without having to download any application.
Unfortunately, the tips below are only for Android, since Apple does not allow users to download with Safari on iOS.
Here’s how to do it:
1) Find some video of your preference on YouTube;
2) Tap “Share” and select “Copy link”;
3) Open your mobile browser and go to convert2mp3.net;
The site goes straight to the point, but its interface may be in German when you access it. If you prefer, touch the US flag in the upper right corner of the screen to switch to English.
4) In the “Insert video link (URL)” field, paste the video link;
5) You can select the audio format you want to download;
You have the option to download in the traditional mp3 format or any other of your preference. We recommend not to touch, but the option is there if you want.
7) You can choose the tags or completely skip this part;
The tags serve to make the file more fully recognized by your music player and make it easier to organize. If that does not matter, just choose “Skip this page (no tags)”; otherwise edit information such as artist name, song name and album, and whether the YouTube video cover will be used as a preview image of the song. Then press “Continue”.
