How to download videos from YouTube to watch on mobile without installing anything

YouTube announced YouTube You Go, an application that will allow users to download videos from the site to watch offline. The app, however, will be released first in India, and should only begin to reach the rest of the world by 2017.

If you are not in the mood to wait for the application to arrive here, be aware that it is now possible to download Youtube videos to watch offline on your cell phone. The best is that this can be done without the need to install another application. Just be connected to a decent Wi-Fi network and have a browser installed on your device.

Doing so brings several advantages. The main one is that you can watch the video whenever you want without fear of spending your mobile network franchise. Although your franchise is very generous, you will not be dependent on the signal from your operator. And, in addition, you can watch in the best possible quality regardless of the signal.

Unfortunately, however, this feature only works on Android. That’s because Apple prevents iPhone users from downloading and accessing files in this way. Still, any Android device, however old, can do that. Here’s how to download Youtube videos to watch offline on your phone:

1) Find the link of the video you want to download

You can do this in the browser, by browsing the Youtube site, or by the YouTube application itself. In this case, it is necessary to access the video, go to the “share” button (a little pointing right) and click on “Copy link”.

2) Access the clipconverter.cc and paste the video link.

This site allows you to download Youtube videos directly to your phone from the link. In it, paste the link of your video and click “continue” below. Be smart: at the time you do this, there will probably be some advertisement; ignore it and move on.

3) Select the video quality

Once the Clip converter detects your video, it will offer you several quality options to download. At this point, it’s worth knowing the screen resolution of your smartphone: it’s no use downloading the video in Full HD if your phone can only display HD pictures. It is also worth remembering that the higher the quality, the more memory the video will take.

After choosing the desired quality, DO NOT CLICK DOWNLOAD. Scroll down the screen a bit and click “start” down. You will be taken to a new screen.

4) Confirm download

You’ll have to wait a little bit before you can start downloading the video. After a few seconds, the three bars that appear on the screen should fill up and the download button should appear. Now, click on it.

5) Wait for your video to finish downloading and open it with a viewer

When the download is complete, you can find the downloaded video by going to the smartphone application drawer and selecting “Downloads.” You can still find the video through your browser’s download page. You will, however, need to have a video viewer (such as VLC ) to watch it. VLC is a free media player available on many platforms, such as Windows, Mac, and Linux.

Ready! Now you can watch your favorite videos wherever and whenever you want without ending your data plan and, best, with great quality and without interruptions.
