Google is testing document approval system for Docs, Slides and Sheets

Google is testing a document approval system for Google Docs, Slides, and Sheets. With this functionality, it will be possible to submit our files for review/approval by third parties. It will be a very interesting feature, especially for the business sector. Imagine that you are creating a presentation for a new client and want to know the opinion of your boss. With this file approval system, you can get this approval without ever leaving your computer.

File approval system is still in beta

Google is still testing this new system. Still, if you want to be the first to experience your potential, you can submit your application.

Once this authorization is granted, you must follow the following steps:

  1. Drive to your Google Drive
  2. In the document to be submitted for review, press the right mouse button
  3. Selects Approvals

Once these steps have been taken, the reviewer (s) will be notified to approve the file in question. This will receive a notification via email to perform this process. Once submitted for review, you will not be able to edit the file until it is approved or rejected.

All files you submit for review will have an expiration date. As the deadline for review approaches, the reviewers will be notified and advised to proceed with their evaluation.

How will our documents be approved

Documents that we wish to submit for approval may be reviewed by one or more persons. In the case of just being a reviewer, everything will be dependent on your verdict.

In cases where there is more than one reviewer, the document will only be approved if everyone approves it. It is enough for one of the reviewers to give a negative opinion to the document so that it is rejected. In addition, reviewers may leave their comments on the file in question.

When will the review system arrive to the public?

We still do not know when this new feature will be made available to the general public. For now, it is in beta, but when it is launched globally we will be aware of what happened.
