How to use the new free Opera VPN for Android

In order to have more privacy when browsing the internet, many users end up opting for VPN applications, which can work for the whole system or only in a certain browser. On the other hand, in Android, Chrome comes pre-installed, but does not have a native feature of this type and ends up leaving anyone who uses it in hand.

Opera has maintained its own application, which was popular with Android to provide a VPN to users, but eventually discontinued the same in the year 2018. Fortunately, the scenario changed again and this time, Opera launched a VPN, which only works on your Android browser. Here’s how to use Opera’s new VPN for Android.

Important

As stated above, this new VPN only works on the browser, ie other programs that you use on Android will not be using this connection.

How to use the new Opera VPN

The new feature of the Opera browser should already be available to users using its stable version, however, the feature is not always appearing. If you need to use this feature, a solution is to resort to your version of browser tests. Check out how to do:

  1. If you do not already have it, go to Google Play to download Opera beta ;
  2. When opening the browser for the first time, read its terms of use and, if you agree, continue by touching “Continue”;
  3. On your home page, touch the Opera icon represented by an “O” and enter “Settings”;
  4. Tap “VPN,” turn on your smartphone, and disable the “Use VPN for private tabs only” option.

At this point, VPN is already enabled and you can safely navigate to Opera. However, if you need to access something specific to a country, you need to make a new configuration. To do this, in the same menu where the VPN was enabled and select the desired continent.

Ready! Now, you already know how to navigate more securely on Android using the official VPN of the Opera browser. For now, there is still no forecast for this feature to arrive in the stable version of the program and neither for the iPhone.
