Chrome is one of the most popular browsers between desktop and mobile platforms and is always deploying new features to keep its users protected. One of the latter, in turn, is a protection mechanism so that its users do not end up falling on malicious sites.
This new function is already available in the last stable version of the browser, however, because it is not yet complete, it is not enabled by default. Here’s how to enable Google Chrome protection against malicious websites that take advantage of user typos:
- Open Chrome normally, click on the icon represented by “three points” and go to “Help> About Google Chrome”;
- Make sure it is in the latest version and update it if necessary;
- Now, in the browser go to chrome: // flags;
- Look for “enable-lookalike-URL-navigation-suggestions” and change its value to “Enabled”;
- Click on “Relaunch Now”;
- Now whenever you try to access a website with the wrong name, Chrome will give you the suggested address.
