Guide to Download Xposed Framework for Android Pie

Let’s see how to Download and install the first version of Xposed Framework for Android Pie now. Xposed Framework available for Android 9 Pie in an unofficial way

Xposed Framework Android Pie

Finally we are here: even if in an unofficial way, Xposed Framework finally arrives on Android 9 Pie.

What is Xposed Framework? What is it for?

As you probably know, Xposed Framework allows you to customize in an extremely complete and advanced Android operating system through the installation of its “modules”, but unfortunately until today was not compatible with the latest release of the operating system of Google.

Xposed Framework also works on Android 9

From today, however, things have changed: it is in fact available a first unofficial release of Xposed Framework for Android 9 Pie.

The file was not released by rovo89, the historical developer of this advanced and complex customization system for Android, but still seems to be compatible with Android 9.

The users do not care who is the developer of this update, the important thing is that finally Xposed Framework has been made compatible with Android Pie (the project is open source, anyone can take it in hand, develop it and update it freely).

All very well, but..

Before joining, however, I point out that not being an official port of Xposed Framework for Android 9, the big problem is that at the moment there are no Xposed modules compatible with Android 9. In a nutshell, it means that you can install Xposed Framework on the your smartphone, but you will not need much until the individual modules are updated to work properly with the latest release of Android.

This is the problem of an unofficial port of Xposed Framework: it works correctly, but the Xposed modules are missing and therefore it is of little use at the moment.

The hope is obviously that the modules are updated soon so as to allow full use of Xposed Framework on Android 9 and then start the complete customization of Android.

Actually some developers are already updating their Xposed modules to make them work with Android 9, so I think it’s just a matter of time: soon the main modules will work properly and will be updated by the respective developers.

Basically for now we must be patient: Xposed Framework is taking its first steps on Android 9 and I am sure that everything will work properly soon.

How to install Xposed Framework on Android 9

If you are really impatient and want to immediately download and install Xposed Framework on Android 9 Pie, here are the steps to follow (at your own risk).

As you can see, unlike previous releases, this is available as a Magisk module, so to work you must have the root on your smartphone and of course you must have installed and properly configured Magisk before you can follow all the steps.

That said, here’s what to do:

  1. Download and install the Riru Core Magisk Module.
  2. Download and install the EdXposed Magisk Module.
  3. Reboot your phone.
  4. Install the Xposed Installer APK from XDA Senior Member DVDandroid.

As you can see, unlike previous releases, this is available as a Magisk module, so to work you must have the root on your smartphone and of course you must have installed and properly configured Magisk before you can follow all the steps.

Let us know in the comments if you can complete the installation and if you encounter bugs or problems of some kind.
