The ‘Your phone’ application that is included in Windows 10 is for easy connection of a PC and a smartphone, without the need for cables, and allows quick information exchange between both. How to set up ‘Your mobile phone’
In order to use this application, you will need to have the October 2018 update of Windows 10. This application actually has two components: the application in Windows 10 and the mobile application, which you will need to download from the Android application store. Another thing to keep in mind is that your phone and computer must be both on the same wireless network and have the Bluetooth system turned on.
To access the application on your PC open the ‘Start’ menu and type ‘Your mobile phone’, or just ‘mobile’. The first time you open the application on your PC, you will be prompted to enter your mobile number so that you can receive a link to the application via SMS. Alternatively, you can search for the application store and install the application manually.
The settings for the ‘Your mobile phone’ application in Windows are very simple, but they allow you to turn on and turn off photo synchronization functionality and features linked to notifications of incoming messages.
How to use the application
On the phone side, the ‘Complement Your Phone’ application is only meant to keep the connection between your smartphone and your computer running, as well as show you other Microsoft applications that you can install.
On the Windows side, the ‘Your mobile phone’ application serves two things: to be a repository of text messages on the ‘Messages’ tab, here you can read and write messages that will be sent through your smartphone. On the ‘Photos’ tab, you can view photos that are on your phone in real time and copy them to your computer.
To send a message through the application is very simple: click on ‘Messages’ then click ‘+ New message’, choose the contact and click on the sending icon. At this point, the application can not send messages with still images or GIF.
The photo management feature is very simple, just click ‘Photos’, the zone on the right is filled with a mosaic of the photos that are on the smartphone.
If you click twice on any photo, it will appear in the Windows 10 ‘Photo’ application. This application allows you to edit some aspects of the original (rotation, light, red eyes, etc.) and save it with a different name. Alternatively, if you want to move a photo to the computer without editing it, you can simply drag it to the folder you want.
Even with the connection between your smartphone and the active computer, if you use the gallery application on your phone to change the images directly, everything will be reflected in the mosaic of images that appears in the application ‘Your phone’ in Windows 10.
