Cloudflare announces Warp, an application for Android and iOS that besides having DNS, will have the possibility of having a free and powerful VPN. The VPN will allow fast and safe browsing without tracking user data and one year after the launch of its DNS 1.1.1.1, Cloudflare also launches its VPN service.

The VPN function is incorporated in the 1.1.1.1 application, already available on the App Store for iOS and Play Store for Android, and the VPN Warp is among the fastest ever without performance drops but at the moment the function is not available and it will only be later.

However, if you want to try Cloudflare Warp you can subscribe to the waiting list that will allow you to preview the new Cloudflare VPN on your device. To register, you must open the 1.1.1.1 application, click on the top item “Claim your sport for faster internet” at the top and then in the popup that appears click on Join the waitlist and you will be automatically registered on the waiting list and as soon as the function is available for you, it will be activated directly in the application.

Warp uses end-to-end encryption, the ability to speed up browsing thanks to caching, change connections automatically and much more. Warp is free but in the coming months Warp+ will be launched, which will be a paid version with additional features.

Change Windows DNS with those of Cloudflare

  • Click with the Right Mouse button on the Network icon in the Windows notification area in the Bottom Bar
  • Click on the item Open Network and Sharing Center and select the item Connection to the local network (LAN)
  • Then click on the Properties button  and double click on Internet Protocol version 4 (TCP / IPv4)
  • Now you have to put the check on Use the following DNS server addresses and use the DNS Server Cloudflare put on DNS Server preferred the IPv4 address 1.1.1.1 and secondary 1.0.0.1 IPv6 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1111 and 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1001
  • Click on OK

Change MAC OSx DNS with those of Cloudflare

  • Click on the network icon in the Menu Bar and select the Open network preferences item from the Contextual Menu
  • Select the Network in use from the Sidebar of the system preferences panel and click on the Advanced button
  • Select the DNS tab  and click on the “+” button located at the bottom left
  • Now you have to put the check on Use the following DNS server addresses and use the DNS Server Cloudflare put on DNS Server preferred the IPv4 address 1.1.1.1 and secondary 1.0.0.1 IPv6 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1111 and 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1001
  • Click OK and Apply to save the settings

Change Linux DNS to Cloudflare

  • Click with the Right mouse button on the network in the notification area and select the Edit connections item from the contextual menu
  • Select the connection you are using and click on the Edit button
  • Go to the IPv4 Settings tab and set Automatic (DHCP) addresses only in the Method drop-down menu;
  • Now you have to put the check on Use the following DNS server addresses and use the DNS Server Cloudflare put on DNS Server preferred the IPv4 address 1.1.1.1 and secondary 1.0.0.1 IPv6 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1111 and 2606: 4700: 4700 :: 1001
  • Click Apply to save the settings
