Apple is collecting MacBook Pro 2015 due to battery problems

Apple has issued a worldwide alert to collect the mid-2015 model of the 15-inch MacBook Pro. There is a problem with your battery that could ultimately result in a fire.

For those who have been affected by this problem, Apple advises that the use of the MacBook Pro be immediately discontinued.

To make sure your MacBook Pro has these problematic batteries, you should go to Apple’s official website. There you will find where to enter the serial number of your computer. Here are the steps to take to find out if your MacBook Pro is among the visas:

  1. Click on the Apple symbol in the upper left corner of the screen
  2. Check if it says “MacBook Pro (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2015)”
  3. If so, place your computer’s serial number on the Apple website

In case your model is actually between the readable batch, you will have to send it to an official Apple repair center. On its official website, Apple says the replacement process may take anywhere from 2 to 3 weeks. The operation costs will be fully borne by Apple.
