How to add watermark in Word files

Those who work as freelancers, for example, and need to deliver texts to multiple clients are always worried about the copyrights of their documents. One way to try to avoid plagiarism is to put watermarks on the pages. The feature is native to Word and very simple to apply. Follow the steps below.

The tutorial was done in the Microsoft Office 365 package of Windows 10, but also works on the software versions 2007, 2010, 2013, 2016 and 2019.

1. Open the Word document that you want to protect with the watermark;

2. Click “Design” and then select “Watermark“;

3. Choose the desired watermark on some of the models offered, and click on it to apply.

How to put custom watermark

Sometimes, because of standardization of work, it is necessary to use own brands of companies or projects. Find out how.

1. Open the document you want, click “Design“, and then select “Watermark“;

2. Select the “Customize Watermark” option, just below the templates offered by Word;

3. Choose an image or text to customize your brand and adjust other settings, if necessary;

4. Now click OK and you’re done! Your custom watermark is automatically inserted into the page.

Tip: If the markup is only appearing on one page, try to go to another page where it does not appear, and repeat the procedures.
