9 Best reasons to buy the ‘old’ PlayStation 4 console in 2019

Sony is already in the last stages of development of the PlayStation 5, however, the next-generation console is expected to arrive by the end of the year 2020 … So is it still worth buying a PlayStation 4 in 2019?

After all, at this point in the championship, the PS4 has countless quality games available, and in fact, the Sony console has never been cheaper than now.But beyond that, let’s talk about all the other great reasons that exist to get a copy of this console now.

1- Price

This is undoubtedly the reason that jumps the most … The console is at a very attractive price and comes with lots of offers, to sweeten the package even more.

Is that in 2013, the PlayStation 4 was launched at $399.99, but now it is very likely that you can find around $340, without major difficulties, and with 3 or 4 games on offer? (Depends on the promotion)

2 – PlayStation Plus is getting better

If you do not know, the subscription program, PlayStation Plus is paid, but it is a crucial addition to any PS4 console. After all, so you can play online with other people, you can enjoy quite interesting discounts on games and you will still receive 2 free games every month.

What kind of games? Always quality games such as ‘Bloodborne’ or ‘For Honor’! Interestingly, I just bought my PS4 Pro, and I already have a ream of very interesting games, in my library, where I have to mention Hitman and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster.

Of course, it will not always be games of your taste, but it is true that the subscription pays for itself. (Especially if you take advantage of buying a 6 or 12-month discount card)

3 – PlayStation 4 is an authentic streaming machine

If you do not like paying for television services, and you prefer to watch only shows and movies … Then PS4 is an excellent gateway to the world of streaming!

With the Sony console, you will have access to Netflix, YouTube, Amazon, HBO Go/Now, etc … (Some depend on the region you are in)

4 – You can play classic PS2 and PS3 games

Unfortunately, Sony decided not to bet on backward compatibility of games, with its PS4. (Unlike what you did with the first PS3). However, to try to compensate players in some way, the Japanese company made available HD versions of several classic PS2 and PS3.

In addition, you also have access to PlayStation Now, where you can stream various other classic titles (Like the entire God of War library – Including PSP games)

5 – PlayStation VR

Virtual Reality is no longer dependent on a super powerful PC! With PlayStation VR on PS4, you can have a very good VR experience in several games like Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, or even Star Wars titles, where you can even play with lightsabers.

It turns out to be an excellent add-on, which is also vastly cheaper, for example, HTC Vive, which needs a relatively powerful PC to realize its full potential. (However, the PSVR still costs around $399, so cheap, may not be well the term.)

6 – PlayStation 4 Pro

If by chance, you think the ‘normal’ PS4 hardware is too old for you, you can always opt for the more powerful but also more expensive PS4 Pro.

With this console, you can give new life to the oldest titles, and of course, play the latest ones with more FPS and higher graphics settings.

Do you really need Pro? Probably not But it’s a great option if you really want to make the most of PS4 games.

7 – The DualShock 4 is very good, and really an excellent evolution compared to the ‘Sixaxis’ PS3

For those who had a PS1, PS2 or PS3 is already more or less accustomed to the command design of Sony … However, the DualShock 4, is most probably the best-designed command of the giant Nippon.

It looks very nice, comfortable design and battery, so you do not have to deal with wires. In addition, it also has a giant touchpad right in the middle, but no game has ever given it due use.

8 – Exclusive Games for Sony PlayStation

One of the big reasons, for PlayStation, to be nowadays, a recognized brand anywhere They are their exclusive games! Where we have to point out, Horizons Zero DawnThe Last of UsSpider-Man and of course … God of War! (We also have, most recently, Days Gone Review on the way)

They are in the background, games that sell consoles by themselves! In fact, I would be lying if I said I did not buy the PS4 with God of War 2018 in mind.

But what is really interesting, is that the exclusive PS4, seem like an endless mine! After all, we still have Death Stranding and The Last of Us: Part II on the way!

9 – Integration with Spotify

When ‘PlayStation Music’ failed, Sony decided to do something wonderful Worked with Spotify to make this the main music player on PS4.

So it is perfectly possible to replace the music of the games with music of your choice. (Holds the sound effects of the game).

And interestingly, you do not even need a paid subscription! (But you’ll have to take it with the ads)
